Dorit Ungar Black and Blair Kaminsky to Present at 2019 Women in Legal & Corporate Leadership Summit
New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP founding partner Dorit Ungar Black and partner Blair Kaminsky will present at the 2019 Women in Legal & Corporate Leadership Summit, taking place on November 21 in New York City.
Dorit will participate in a panel titled “Countering the #MeToo Backlash: Enlisting Men to Become Ambassadors for Change.” She will discuss the benefits of inclusion strategies that stress the importance of listening to and working with everyone, not just women and minorities, to bring about real change. The panel will take place at 11:25 a.m., and will feature executives from Buzzfeed, Merck, and NCC Media.
Blair’s panel, titled “Promoting Diversity & Inclusion in Law Firms & Corporations: Disrupting Old Models & Lowering Attrition,” will kick-off the conference at 8:30 a.m. The panel will discuss how in-house counsel can foster an inclusive culture within their departments, and what steps law firms can take to support diversity. Other panelists include in-house counsel from CIBC Capital Markets, TED Conferences, and Mastercard.
Dorit and Blair have been instrumental in HSG’s diversity efforts, mentoring many of the firm’s younger lawyers and advocating for women and minorities at the firm. Notably, over the last two calendar years, 66% of the firm’s associate recruits have been women, coming from some of the most elite firms, clerkships, and schools in the country.
Hosted by Centerforce, the Women in Legal & Corporate Leadership Summit explores the obstacles, risks, and rewards on the path to a fulfilling and productive career for women in leadership positions. Additional information about the event and HSG’s involvement is available here.
