Benjamin Heidlage Named an Elite Boutique Trailblazer by The National Law Journal
New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partner Benjamin F. Heidlage has been named one of only 26 2022 Elite Boutique Trailblazers by The National Law Journal. His profile, available here, highlights Ben’s history of success in major commercial disputes, several of which have gone to trial.
In one of the first large civil trials conducted in the pandemic, Ben represented Valassis, a MacAndrews & Forbes company, against News Corp. and its subsidiaries alleging federal and state antitrust violations, unfair competition, and tortious interference. The case ultimately settled confidentially. Ben was also a member of the HSG team that won a $2.4 billion trial verdict against Lehman Brothers related to mortgage-backed securities, and currently serves on a team representing Chubb as nationwide lead trial and appellate counsel in its opioid coverage cases involving various large players across the pharmaceutical industry, including AmerisourceBergen, McKesson, and RiteAid.
In another matter that was not only litigated in the pandemic but arose directly from it, Ben helped the travel technology company Travelport navigate a dispute with its lenders over a $3 billion credit agreement. Ben similarly assisted PetSmart and its parent company in connection with a dispute with its lenders under a $4.2 billion term loan.
