Blair Kaminsky Named 2023 Distinguished Leader by New York Law Journal

New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partner and Management Committee member Blair Kaminsky has received the New York Law Journal’s 2023 Distinguished Leaders award, which honors lawyers in leadership roles who have achieved impressive results over the past year. She is one of only 15 lawyers honored.

At HSG, Blair represents both individuals and corporations in complex commercial litigation and investigatory matters frequently touching on large-scale transactions and the financial services industry. She is widely respected for her leadership and advocacy in litigation with wide-ranging social and economic impacts, including high-stakes litigation arising out of the Great Recession relating to mortgage-backed securities, and insurance coverage disputes in courts around the country related to the opioid crisis. In another wave of commercial litigation with potential exposure in the billions, Blair represents Visa in multi-district class action antitrust litigation filed on behalf of merchants, as well as in opt-out cases brought by the world’s largest retailers, relating to network rules at the heart of the Visa system.

In addition to serving on HSG’s Management Committee, Blair is a founding member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, which has launched affinity groups for LGBTQIA+ individuals, women, and first-generation professionals, among a wide variety of other concrete actions it has taken at HSG and in the wider community. Blair also co-leads the firm’s marketing and recruiting efforts, regularly bringing in new client matters and actively recruiting a diverse and highly-credentialed group of lawyers.

In addition to this honor, Blair was recently recognized by Chambers USA as an Up and Coming lawyer for general commercial litigation in New York, was selected as one of only 10 honorees for the New York Business Journal’s Women of Influence award, and was named to Crain’s New York Business’ list of Notable Women in Law. She also received Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Rising Star Award for Best in Litigation: General Commercial and has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation since 2017.
