HSG Associate Jonathan Schaffer-Goddard Contributes to Leading UK Guide to Mooting
New York—Jonathan Schaffer-Goddard contributed a forward along with several sample moot problems and a sample bench note to the second edition of Mooting: The Definitive Guide to a Key Legal Skill, the leading guide for law students in the UK on the topic. The moot problems cover issues in criminal law, contract law, conflict of laws, and attorney-client privilege.
Jonathan is a member of the advisory committee for the ESU/Essex Court Mooting Competition and the barrister liaison to the Inner Temple’s Mooting Society, where he supports a comprehensive program of mooting competitions for law students. He wrote and convened the Inner Temple’s Magna Carta Moot between 2017 and 2022. As a student at Oxford Brookes Law School, he won both the Inner Temple IV and the ESU/Essex Court Mooting Competitions (the two largest mooting competitions in the UK), and represented the UK at the Commonwealth Mooting Competition in Melbourne.
Jonathan is a dual-qualified barrister and New York attorney with a practice focused on transatlantic disputes. He regularly appears before courts and tribunals in England and Wales, New York, and across the United States.
