Daniel Fahrenthold

Overview

Daniel Fahrenthold represents clients in a broad range of complex commercial and civil litigation, with an emphasis on cross-border disputes.

Before joining Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, Daniel served as a law clerk to the Hon. Dennis Jacobs of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and as judicial fellow to H.E. President Joan E. Donoghue of the International Court of Justice. Previously, he practiced in both New York and Paris as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, representing clients in transnational litigation and arbitration governed by U.S. and European law.

While at Columbia Law School, Daniel served as Executive Notes Editor of the Columbia Law Review, which published his note on foreign sovereign amici in U.S. courts. He interned at the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, finishing as a finalist in 2019.
