Spence Colburn

Spence Colburn maintains a wide-ranging practice advising individual and corporate clients on civil disputes and internal investigations.

Spence previously served as an associate in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she advised a foreign issuer facing allegations of securities fraud. She also advised public institutions on Title VII lawsuits and corporate boards on internal investigations.

Before joining Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Andromache Karakatsanis of the Supreme Court of Canada, the highest court in the Canadian judicial system. Before that, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable David Harris and Honorable Sunni Stromberg-Stein of the British Columbia Court of Appeal. In private practice, she has contributed pro bono legal services to an effort to challenge congressional maps in Louisiana under the Voting Rights Act.

• Visa Inc. and its subsidiaries in various matters, including their defense against class and individual antitrust actions brought by virtually every merchant in the United States and alleging hundreds of billions of dollars in damages.
• Online media company in putative class action alleging violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA).
